This is an archive of some of my old monochrome work between about 1995 to 2003 and is mostly model work. Most were taken on Ilford black and white film such as FP4, HP5 or Delta 100 and a few on Kodak Infrared film. All were hand printed by me on Ilford multigrade paper and scanned using a flat bed scanner for display on my old web site at monoart.com (which this web site now replaces). Sadly the size and quality of the scans is poor by today’s standards. Back then the optical resolution of scanners was poor and picture sizes needed to be small and jpg files highly compressed as we didn’t have fast broadband internet for quick downloads. I have considered purchasing a negative scanner to better reproduce these old images together with much of my exhibition work but time has not allowed, and it seems more important to concentrate on my current photography direction rather then try to enhance old work.
